Peter Snashall's Paralympic dream has come true.
The Eastbourne Club swimmer from Pevensey, 21 this month, will represent Britain in Sydney this October.
Snashall has been selected for the 50m freestyle relay in the learning disabilities (514) classification.
His mother Adele said: "This is something Peter has dreamed about since he was eight.
"He devotes his whole life to swimming.
"He concentrates on keeping fit in the gym as well as the pool every day.
"That is something he has done for the past 13 years.
"Peter never gave up and always swims his best however hard the circum-stances."
Snashall travels to the Gold Coast for pre-Games training in early October.
The swimmer, who is trained by Eastbourne head coach Glen Cook, competed in the Special Olympics three years ago.
He took up swimming after he was knocked down by a car when he was three years old.
Worthing's Wayne Ryding has also been selected. He was fifth in the 100m breaststroke at the Altanta Paralympics four years ago.
The wheelchair-bound 41-year-old helped Britain win the men's relay gold medal at the IPC World Championships in New Zealand two years ago.
