I was recently admitted to the accident and emergency department of the Royal Sussex County Hospital, where I had numerous tests before returning home with the news I had cancer.
Since then I have been an outpatient of several departments and have had major surgery from which I am recuperating.
Throughout my treatment I have been impressed by the efficiency of all staff, including the consultants, doctors, anaesthetists, technicians, nurses and porters.
They are caring, informative, good-humoured and courteous, without being patronising.
The operation itself was an incredible experience and the results, up to the present time, have exceeded what I might have expected.
No praise is high enough and l am truly grateful.
