IF Ecovert has sufficient funds to sponsor the giant lectern on the A23 just south of the Patcham roundabout (Argus, July 24), Brighton and Hove Council must be paying them too much for their parks and gardens contract.
This is the kind of environmentally damaging project which makes taxpayers so angry about their money being wasted. Will one extra visitor come to Brighton as a result?
Will those who do come feel any happier about their visit as a result of being welcomed? This is a particularly pleasant entrance to Brighton, with Patcham Place and park on the right. Who said the council and Ecovert could use our money to spoil it?
