Albion's exhaustive hunt for a big striker is on hold.
Manager Micky Adams still has an un-named target, but talks with the player will not start until next week.
Adams hopes to have him on board before the Seagulls' opening fixture at Southend on August 12.
Tickets are still available for Saturday's only home friendly against First Division Sheffield Wednesday at Withdean (3pm).
Seats for Albion's first home League game against Rochdale on August 19 go on sale next Monday.
Just over 4,000 season tickets have been sold so far.
Chief executive Martin Perry said: "They have gone exceedingly well and we are still getting applications.
"Last year we had 4,010 by Christmas, so we are four or five months ahead of last year's sales."
Adams, Perry and chairman Dick Knight are on the panel for a fans' forum at Brighton Racecourse tonight (7.30pm).
