Deprived and rundown areas of Worthing, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton and Selsey were today looking at what the Government windfall of £6.995 million will actually mean to them.
Celebrations have kicked off in the coast towns after hearing news of the massive cash injection from the Government's Single Regeneration Budget.
The cash will be used to tackle problems along the coast by running a series of projects to boost skills and improve access to education, health and employment in the towns.
Arun District Council co-ordinated the bid, Turning the Tide: A Bright Coastal Future, and the projects will bring together private and public sector funds.
The cash will be spent over a seven-year period.
