A Seaside town is to unveil a colourful tribute to a much-loved royal.
Eastbourne mayor Michael Tunwell will tomorrow officially open a floral display in honour of the Queen Mother on her 100th birthday.
The display will be available for all to see in the Carpet Gardens on Eastbourne seafront and will include a copy of the Queen Mother's official coat of arms using around 5,000 plants.
The special tribute was arranged by Mr Tunwell and created by the borough council's parks and gardens contractors and seafront contractors Brophy.
Mr Tunwell said: "I wanted to make sure that Eastbourne took this opportunity of expressing the love and respect that we have for the Queen Mother in a tangible way that can be appreciated by residents and visitors alike."
The floral display will be unveiled at a ceremony at 10.30am tomorrow. It will include a performance by bandstand favourites the Eastbourne Silver Band.
