An MP is campaigning for crash barriers to be installed on a busy road after a man was killed in a head-on collision.
Barry Dey, 29, of Streetfield Road, Slinfold, near Horsham, died after another vehicle crossed the central reservation on the A24 near Ashington and hit him head-on.
Now Howard Flight, MP for Arundel and the South Downs, has written to the Highways Agency asking for a central barrier to be installed on the road to stop such a tragedy happening again.
Mr Dey was driving a Vauxhall Astra estate which was in collision with a Peugeot 405 being driven by Scott Smith, 21, of Sompting.
Mr Dey was airlifted to Worthing Hospital but was declared dead on arrival after the accident in May. Mr Smith suffered chest injuries.
Mr Flight said: "We must not allow a tragedy like this to happen again. The provision of a barrier, for very little expenditure, could save many lives."
A Nissan Primera being driven by Catherine Wickham, 46, of Hillside Walk, Storrington, and a Saab 900 being driven by Neville Hepburn, 45, of Poole in Dorset, were also involved in the crash. The drivers were unhurt.
