Police have told how a couple died at a remote cottage.
A Home Office pathologist examined the two bodies found at their cottage home near the village of East Hoathly yesterday.
It has been confirmed the 73-year-old woman died from suffocation and her 72-year-old husband from a gunshot wound to the head.
Police are continuing their investigation into the suspected murder and suicide but have emphasised they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
They are yet to reveal the identities of the couple.
The bodies were found on Sunday by the couple's daughter, who was visiting the cottage which stands in acres of farmland.
