Camp comic Julian Clary is moving to Brighton for five weeks while he stars in this year's panto at the Theatre Royal.
He spent yesterday afternoon flat hunting after a photo shoot for Cinderella with co-stars Dave Benson-Phillips, presenter of children's television programme Get Your Own Back, and Southern Counties radio presenter Joanne Good.
Julian will play Dandini, Prince Charming's colourful sidekick.
He will move to Brighton in December with his black puppy Valerie. But he will leave his cat Gloria with his parents.
He said: "I've always thought I would end up living in Brighton, so I guess this will be a nice little taster.
"At the moment I'm very happy living in London but I think I'm destined to relocate to Brighton one day.
"I have a lot of friends in this town and have been performing in Brighton venues for more then 20 years.
"I feel very at home here and am nervously excited about performing in my first panto."
Julian, best known for the television shows Sticky Moments and It's Only TV But I Like It with Jonathan Ross and Phill Jupitus, has also given a thumbs up to the infamous late night adult panto which raises thousands for charity each year.
Last year, the saucy show featured a surprise appearance by pop heart-throb Robbie Williams. Julian said: "I'm really looking forward to performing in front of children, but it would be fun to let rip on the last night to a more mature audience."
Cinderella runs at the Theatre Royal, New Road, from December 14 until January 21. To book tickets, call 01273 328488.
