This latest addition to Body Shop founder Anita Roddick's home could certainly do with some of her skin-care products.
The gnarled wooden sculpture has been put in her garden at Slindon, near Chichester.
The 6ft 2in-high sculpture, called Greenman, was created from driftwood found on the beach by Matthew Franklin.
Matthew, whose work- shop is in a converted 18th Century barn in Sompting, said: "She loved the piece when I delivered it, but said it was possibly the ugliest man she had ever seen.
"That was fine, though, because there's a certain beauty in ugliness."
Matthew, 28, added: "He also holds a large tray out in front of him like a butler.
People can leave their drinks on him when Anita has a garden party."
Matthew has also carved a display unit and coffee table with barnacles on its legs for the house.
A keen carpenter since the age of five, he first used driftwood when he found a 15ft-long piece on Worthing beach in 1997.
He is holding an exhibition of his works at Parham House, Pulborough, from August 18 to 20.
