Claire Beech is hoping an appearance in comic Steve Coogan's new sitcom will be the first step to TV stardom.
Claire, 19, whose ambition is to be a television presenter, is one of dozens of people from Brighton and Hove recruited for the show Beautiful Love.
The sitcom is the first time the Brighton-based comic, famous for creations such as Alan Partridge and Paul and Pauline Calf, has stepped behind the camera. As producer he will be staying true to his roots and filming many parts of the series in Sussex.
Claire, from Ringmer, who works for the Argus' stablemate Scoop, will be filming today.
As a drama student at BHASVIC she appeared in productions such as My Fair Lady, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and Grease.
In Beautiful Love she plays the soon-to-be-married daughter of one of the sitcom's main characters, although without an Equity card she still does not know whether it will be a speaking part. She hopes her appearance will be a stepping stone towards realising her television presenting ambition.
She said: "I am just there to get recognised really. I am just loud and confident. That is what I want to do."
