I have recently witnessed on TV a sickening parade of businessmen stamping their feet and saying unless Britain joins the euro they will pack their bags and leave. One had already relocated to the Czech Republic.
What he fails to tell us is this has nothing to do with the euro and everything to do with his greed. The Czech Republic is not in the euro zone but pays slave wages.
British workers aren't fooled. They know since Tony Blair and his team came to power they have worked miracles. Inflation is low, unemployment falling, the economy booming, investment pouring in from abroad and the pound as sought after as the dollar.
The jury is still out on the single currency and that is why Tony Blair's policy of "wait and see" is so popular. Let's have a real debate about the euro and the pound, followed by a referendum.
