A man was jailed for a month today after appearing naked at Brighton Magistrates' Court.
He refused to wear any clothes or give his identity.
Stipendiary magistrate Ann Arnold warned him he would be convicted of contempt of court if he did not co-operate.
The man, who had been carried into the court by three jailers, then started to jump up and down.
Ms Arnold then sentenced the man to one month in prison.
She told the court as he had refused to give his identity to police and a duty solicitor assigned to represent him he would be called on court records "unknown naked man".
She told him: "You have wilfully insulted the court this morning."
The man was arrested by police yesterday and charged with common assault and four offences of criminal damage.
He is alleged to have smashed windows at McDonalds, Burger King and Pizza Hut in Brighton, plus a £1,000 stained glass window at St Nicholas Church.
The charges were adjourned until August 25 and he was remanded in custody.
