A team of Sussex firefighters will be burning up the calories this weekend when they attempt to run a marathon in two hours.
Recruits from the East Sussex Fire Brigade will aim to complete the whole distance.
But instead of pounding the roads and highways, they will run in relay on treadmill exercise machines.
Teams of six will run in the morning and the afternoon to see who can set the best time.
To make it more exciting, teams from the David Lloyd and Riptide Fitness Centres in Brighton have been challenged to race over the 26.4 miles.
The recruits are confident they can extinguish the opposition as they already have a reputation for breaking world records.
In January, they entered the history books when they climbed the equivalent height of Mount Everest on a Versaclimber exercise machine.
The marathon bid will take place outside Churchill Square Shopping Centre, Western Road, Brighton, on Saturday starting at 9.30am.
Money raised will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Appeal at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Brighton and the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund.
