Brighton wants to be the Place to Be but I have found when people get there they don't know where to go! I have been bombarded with questions each time I travel by train into Brighton - which way to the sea, the pier, the shops, The Lanes, the hospital and so on.
Yes, there is a map available at £1 from a machine nearly out of view but why not a large "You are here" board or on the proposed Ocean Boulevard a sign "To the sea". Or, even better, a small tourist info kiosk outside the station. The small bus maps on the shelters are not much help either.
I feel sorry for the bus drivers, who are constantly being asked for directions. And why no prices on the board advertising tours of Brighton?
