I have lived in Withdean Court for two and a half years and in that time the rubbish has been collected regularly. When Sita took over the rubbish was not collected for four weeks.

I called the "helpline" and spoke to a very nice Australian person, who was completely honest and said she had no explanation for why the rubbish had not been collected.

She added the problem was the dustmen probably did not know where Varndean Road was and as the rubbish was not visible from the road had ignored it.

There is your answer.

Brighton and Hove Council employs a firm to collect rubbish from Brighton that is not even in Brighton and whose employees have no local knowledge. Even on the main helpline was an Australian who, although very nice, had no idea where Varndean Road was.
