Sussex Wildlife Trust, has appointed Mary Carruthers as marketing officer with special responsibility for forging links with the Sussex business community.
Mary joined the trust two years ago as volunteer co-ordinator to oversee the many volunteers who work across the county promoting nature conservation.
With a background in marketing for the agricultural sector, Mary sees her new role for the trust as an opportunity to promote a personal commitment to the environment.
She said: "I'm anxious to forge new contacts in the Sussex business world to tell them about the trust.
"Our expertise and knowledge can help them in making business decisions which are beneficial for conservation and a healthier environment.
"The trust is an active voice for the environment and wildlife. We rely on the businesses and people of Sussex to help us achieve a better environment within which we all can thrive."
