Gold medal-winning chartered accountant Pippa Phelan has started her own practice in Sussex.
Pippa, of Burgess Hill, is aiming her business towards small owner-managed firms, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
She said: "My aim is to provide high-quality technical advice with a personal and prompt service.
"Most small businesses don't have an accountant on the premises. So as well as providing the standard annual accounts preparation and tax return service, I can give clients tax and accountancy advice throughout the year."
The new practice is the result of seven years of studying and working in small practices.
In 1996 Pippa won the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants' gold medal for achieving the highest marks in her finals worldwide and the Financial Strategy subject prize.
