Sussex beaches were still crammed with bank holiday visitors this weekend despite the unseasonal weather.
Thousands sat on the seafront in Brighton and Hove, Worthing and Eastbourne, wearing jumpers rather than the usual bathing shorts and swimsuits as a wind chill took the glow off even Monday's bright sunshine.
Bars, restaurants and hotels all did well as the promenades filled.
Brighton seafront co-ordinator Marcus Hayakawa said: "It just goes to show that we are becoming a year-round resort where there's something to do no matter how the weather is.
"With all the entertainments organised along the seafront these days, it's still worth coming down even if the weather's not that great."
Across the county, drizzle failed to dampen people's enthusiasm for going out.
The Worthing Carnival, the Vintage Transport Show at Hellingly, near Eastbourne, and the Herstmonceux Castle medieval festival were all well-attended.
