Thousands turned out for the 173rd Uckfield Carnival and it was hailed as one of the most successful so far.
Around 12,000 people lined the streets for the highlight of the event which saw dozens of bonfire societies from across Sussex taking part in a torch-lit procession.
The colourful convoy of marchers, floats and bands led to the bonfire and fireworks display watched by the crowds.
Di Watts, vice president of the town's bonfire society, said: "It has gone very well this year. Everyone had a fantastic time.
"All the societies were well turned out and the floats were marvellous. We would like to thank all those who took part."
The event is likely to raise approximately £3,500 for local charities and good causes.
