A decade ago when everyone was laughing at the fashions and fads of the Seventies, Tim Mason was starting to collect the things other people were discarding.

Now with a revival of interest in what some people called the Decade that Taste Forgot, Tim has opened a shop specialising in its wares.

Tim, a former model who featured in adverts for Mates condoms, said while everyone else was chucking away their Ronco Stylomatics, he could not get enough.

The shop, Pop Cycle, on the corner of Gloucester Road and Tidy Street in Brighton, opened last month.

Tim said: "I've been collecting this kind of stuff for years and I turned round one day and looked at my flat. It resembled a shop.

"Then the opportunity to take over a real shop came up and I had no hesitation in taking it on.

"It may be a long time before they can be called antiques but that doesn't stop people collecting things from those days. It's good fun."
