Recent correspondence draws attention to the fact there are still people, many of them vulnerable, living and sleeping on the streets of Brighton.
There are several organisations and groups who do their best to provide help, many of them voluntary, several of them church-based. Brighton Housing Trust, St. Patricks Trust, Brighton YMCA and Hove YMCA are perhaps among the best known, but several other groups, such as Project Antifreeze and Friends First (which I represent), are active in befriending and offering help to those in need. There is still much to be done and we must not become complacent.
I would also like to thank the Argus appeal, which recently donated £500 to support the work of Friends First among the homeless. I am sure the same fund has also helped many others.
