There are 827,000 empty dwellings in England and Wales. How many of those are in Brighton and Hove?
Yet all we seem to read about are plans to build more houses (Argus, September 2).
Building low-cost houses is an oxymoron. Before you start even thinking about doing this, there must be in place adequate facilities and services for the additional people expected to live in them.
These include roads and traffic management, water, waste and sewage disposal, incinerators, extra police, social services, play and recreation areas and, above all, additional hospital facilities, which are already overcrowded.
