Artists Hannah Birkett and Sarah Calder specialise in turning other people's junk into huge, colourful puppets.

The pair, from Hove, run a community arts group called Pobble People, entertaining at local festivals and running puppet-making and performance workshops for children and adults, including people with learning disabilities.

Now they are planning to embark on a new project involving elderly people and children and would like to hear from schools and old people's homes interested in taking part.

Hannah said: "We try to use as many recycled materials as we can in our puppets - old socks, wire, paper, material, anything we can get our hands on.

"Some of the puppets are bizarre creatures and they appeal to people of all ages. We would like to get schools working with old people's homes, perhaps with the children performing in homes."

Pobble People can be contacted on 01273 208052.
