Former Seagull Duncan McArthur could be on the move to Crystal Palace.

The Hastings midfielder has been offered a trial with the first division club and joins striker Chris Honey and goalkeeper Shwan Jalal on the list of Pilot Field targets for pro clubs.

McArthur, booted out by Albion for disciplinary reasons at the end of 1998-99, wants to get back into the professional game after making three first team appearances for Micky Adams as a trainee.

He said: "I'm over the moon. It came out of the blue. The gaffer sprung it on me during the week. I had no idea clubs were looking at me.

"Dean's going to arrange a convenient date for me to go up there and I'll just be looking to give it my best shot."

The midfielder was offered a pro contract by Adams just a couple of days before he was kicked out. It has never emerged why the talented youngster departed.

Hastings manager Dean White says McArthur's skill is frightening and believes he can play at the highest level.

White said: "Duncan can play as high as he wants to play, that's how good he is. If Duncan wants to play in the Premiership, that's up to him. He's been a silly lad in the past, but he has matured a lot over the last year.

Honey and Jalal have been offered trials with Premiership Charlton Athletic. West Ham have also watched Jalal.

Teenage striker Honey is expected to remain at the Pilot Field this season, while he finishes his A-levels.

St Leonards have signed versatile left-sided player Adam Day from Steyning. He will be in the squad at Histon tomorrow.

Gavin Ramsden is back in light training after breaking his leg last year and should be back by the end of October.

Crawley are at full strength for their trip to Halesowen while Langney Sports welcome back Nathan Godden from an ankle injury at Stamford.
