Home Secretary Jack Straw has announced he is seeking new legislation to deal with the activities of animal rights protesters.

Existing laws already cover offences from insulting behaviour, harassment, assault, criminal damage, grievous bodily harm, arson and manslaughter through to murder.

Precisely what new offences are alleged to be committed by animal rights protesters? Could it be the heinous offence - oft quoted by the hunting and farming fraternity - of bunny hugging?
