The arrival of travellers in Preston Park has cheered me up no end, especially as they seem to have virtually corralled poor Andy Rollings' Chalet Cafe.
Poetic justice, some may say.
For years, park users have been urging Brighton and Hove Council to tackle the very serious problems pedestrians face in the park as a result of excessive and intrusive car access into Preston Park.
Mr Rollings has been a vociferous and active opponent of measures to improve safety for pedestrians in the park.
Perhaps now, as a victim himself of selfish motorists, he may feel more empathy towards pedestrians and remove the petition he has been running from the cafe, calling for the re-introduction of cars into the centre of the park, in the belief this will improve the park experience for everyone.
The travellers certainly seem to be in agreement with these proposals and appear to be having a lovely time. Unfortunately for Mr Rollings, these are motorists very much in possession of their own kettles.
