As part of the Boys' Brigade council meeting held in Brighton over the weekend of September l-3, various bands played at various venues along the Brighton and Hove seafront.
On Saturday evening, bands from the London district performed at the Fishmarket Hard on the Lower Esplanade, opposite East Street.
These very talented youngsters gave an excellent performance, marred only by the fact none of the lights at that section was in working order. As darkness fell they played on, although it became difficult to see them - a great pity, as their playing had attracted quite a crowd.
I understand from nearby traders that many complaints have been made regarding these lights. I would have thought having allocated the venue, Brighton and Hove Council would have ensured the lighting was working.
I only hope the problem is rectified before the next performance at the same location and the inefficiency of the council will not spoil another performance.
