I am amazed at Brighton and Hove Council's sudden U-turn regarding travellers. We were promised urgent action in the case of the travellers in Preston Park but they're still there. I sympathise with residents of the area and park users, but would urge them not to hold their hopes too high.
In Woodingdean, we were promised travellers would be moved with 28 days. It actually took 15 months. It's about time a zero tolerance policy was adopted by the council.
