Almost 1,500 magicians are expected to arrive in Eastbourne next week for the start of a week-long conference.
Illusionists, high-speed card tricksters and mind readers will mingle to discuss the future of their trades.
The performers have organised 13 shows for children and the less fortunate.
The International Brotherhood of Magicians' conference runs from September 24 to October 1 at the Congress Theatre.
A spokesman said: "For five days Eastbourne will become the magic capital of the country."
There will be 13 shows in Eastbourne's hotels, boarding houses, shops, restaurants and bars.
