A high profile police team set up to reassure the community has been hailed a success.
The Sector Tasking Team was created at the beginning of the year to provide a high visibility uniformed presence in Worthing, Littlehampton, Arundel and Lancing.
The team of one sergeant and eight constables was set up to prevent crime and make residents feel safer as part of a restructuring of police work in the Highdown division.
Today the team was set to make its achievements public.
They include putting bobbies on the beat in the key areas of Worthing, Lancing, Arundel and Littlehampton, and mounting patrols in outlying areas such as Yapton.
A police spokesman said the team had also helped with Operation Castle to curb problems with youths in Durrington and Goring.
And officers had pursued several people wanted on warrants.
The team was set up as part of a plan to improve policing in West Sussex.
Graham Walter, divisional commander, outlined the plan in January and promised a sharper focus on the investigation of crime and the setting up of a new community safety unit.
He said at the time: "We must constantly challenge what we do, find better and different ways of doing things."
