Matthew Wicks has issued a sign me plea to Albion manager Micky Adams.
Wicks wants a permanent move to play a part in what he believes will be automatic promotion for the Seagulls.
The young central defender has been a revelation since joining Albion on a month's loan from Second Division Peterborough.
He has formed an effective partnership with Danny Cullip and headed two goals in the last three games.
"I would love to stay here," Wicks said. "When I came the fixtures looked quite hard and I just thought about giving everything in all the games I managed to play in.
"Now I really would love something to come of this."
Wicks' arrival has coincided with Albion's five-match unbeaten run.
He opened the scoring in last Saturday's impressive 3-0 home victory against Cheltenham after finding the target in a 1-1 draw at Cardiff.
Wicks, who helped Peterborough to promotion via the play-offs last season, said: "This is a fantastic side to play in.
"I played twice down here for Peterborough last year and I tipped Brighton to go up this year before I came on loan to the club.
"Now I have seen the players first hand I think they have a fantastic chance of going up automatically.
"The players here are capable of promotion, although you also need a little bit of fortune along the way.
"I enjoy playing with Danny Cullip. I thought he was an exceptional player last year and it's even better playing alongside him."
Saturday's trip to struggling York is the last away game of Wicks' loan spell.
His month expires after Albion's next home match against Leyton Orient on September 30.
l There are still tickets on sale for Albion fans wishing to travel to York on Saturday.
Terrace tickets are priced at £8 adults, £5 under-18s and senior citizens.
These tickets can be transferred to seats for an extra £1 on the day of the game. There are also some pre-bookable seats available priced at £11 and £7. Disabled people go free, with helpers paying £8. Contact 01904 624447 ext. 1 for more details.
Tickets are also on sale at the club's offices for the home match against Leyton Orient on Saturday week.
