Bryan Childers is right when he says drunkenness and violence will worsen when the new clubs open at Aquarium Terraces (Opinion, September 14).
Some time ago, the Argus reported Brighton and Hove Council as saying it would make sure local residents were not unduly disturbed by the new clubs. But how will it do that? How many toilets are to be built and kept open after hours to stop clubbers using doorways?
How many security guards will be provided to stop fights and damage to local property after hours? We see these things happening at existing clubs. The police have already said they will not be able to cope with more clubs in the area.
