Albion manager Micky Adams is looking for outsiders as his new assistant and reserve coach.
The Seagulls' youth team duo Martin Hinshelwood and Dean Wilkins and injured midfielder Warren Aspinall have all been ruled out of the running.
Adams wants Hinshelwood and Wilkins to continue their successful work with the youngsters, while Aspinall prefers to carry on playing.
Assistant Alan Cork's shock move to Cardiff following the departure last month of reserve coach Ian Culverhouse to Barnet has left Adams' backroom staff badly depleted.
He will be helped by physio Malcolm Stuart for tomorrow's away match at York.
Adams said. "I think Hinsh and Deano are both more than capable of doing the job Corky did, but I don't want to disrupt the great work they are doing with the kids.
"Malcolm will be with me tomorrow and we will get by. The sad thing is Corky had a new little warm-up routine he brought in against Millwall.
"We haven't lost since he started it, so one of us will have to do that."
Aspinall saw a specialist yesterday about the ankle ligament damage which has sidelined him for much of the season and may need surgery.
He was in charge of the reserves for their midweek win at Wycombe Wanderers, but Adams revealed: "I've spoke to Warren and he wants to continue playing.
"He is happy to help out at the moment and he is gaining valuable experience, but he still feels he has a chance of playing and I respect that. If we can get him fit he can still be an asset to my squad this season."
Adams has also ruled out Albion's new part-time goalkeeping coach Mike Kelly, his former No. 2 at Brentford Glenn Cockerill and ex-Fulham colleague Ian Branfoot.
Cockerill is assisting Alan Smith at Crystal Palace, while Branfoot controls Sunderland's youth academy.
It's business as usual as far as Adams is concerned at Bootham Crescent tomorrow. He expects his players to adapt to Cork's absence and he is anticipating plenty of interest in both vacancies.
"I don't think it will be a problem for the players," he added. "Corky was great with them and they loved him, but if they are that weak minded then they are not the lads I think they are. We have got to show Corky we are a better team than Cardiff.
"Yesterday morning I had between ten and 15 calls about his job, so there will be plenty of interest.
"Whatever happens both posts will be filled by people I want and I am looking forward to forging another relationship with somebody. It might stimulate me.
"It's been a lonely time this week, but I am looking forward to tomorrow now. I want a positive response, which is what the fans will get from me."
Adams is likely to name an unchanged starting line-up again, with Albion unbeaten for five games, although fit-again striker Lee Steele is pressing for a place after two goals in the reserves.
