I have lived in Brighton for 40 years. Streets are deep in rubbish and dog mess. Houses are dilapidated and in need of repair. The pavements are unsafe, dirty, loose and cracked. Public transport is dirty and unreliable. Service in shops is very bad.
Wherever you go, you see drug addicts and drunks. The police are never about the street, only the odd police car can be seen when there is a call out. Traffic wardens do not do their job, cars are parked illegally all over Brighton, even on pavements, and the police do not remove them. I would not recommend Brighton as a place for a holiday or for students to visit.
