Greg Rusedski will join British No. 1 Tim Henman at the Samsung Open at the Brighton Centre from November 20-26.
The out-of-sorts No. 2, who was dumped out of the Olympics in the opening round, believes his Sussex fans can help him re-discover the form that saw him rise to world No. 4.
Rusedski has suffered a nightmare year and is only 77th in the ATP Champions Race which judges performances from January.
But he said: "It always gives me a boost to have the crowd behind me and hopefully Tim and I will be able to give the supporters something to cheer.
"I am really looking forward to playing in front of the home fans at Brighton and getting involved in what should be a great new event.
"There's certain to be a quality field and it will be competitive."
Former Wimbledon and US Open finalist Cedric Pioline has signed up and yesterday former Olympic champion Marc Rosset revealed an interest.
Pat Rafter, a Wim-bledon finalist this year, could also play.
