I am horrified at the prospect of yet another blind decision being made by Brighton and Hove Council, this time involving the construction of a sculpture in the grounds of Brighton's Royal Pavilion.
I am disappointed the council is not learning from its previous mistakes. The proposed sculpture is ill-conceived, badly-proportioned and shows a complete lack of regard by its creator for its surroundings.
As a designer, I am all for experimental art, but this looks dated before it is even erected and will only serve to damage the image of the surrounding historical building.
Why is it this was not a project run as a design competition, open to public creativity (as the Pavilion itself originally was) or, at least, the proposed designs put up for local public vote?
