AS a BT cellnet user and Brighton seafront resident, I had always presumed the weak network signal inside our flat was because we have fairly high buildings around us. Usually, I have to go on to our outside balcony to ensure the signal is strong enough.

Miracle of miracles, on the eve of the Labour Party Conference the signal was so greatly improved I could even make a call from inside the building's lift. The difference was really remarkable.

I sincerely hope this is not just a temporary adjustment for the benefit of those involved in the conference. It would be nice to think we'll be able to enjoy this improvement long after the politicians have all gone home.
