In response to the recent letter querying why I attended the annual meeting of the East Saltdean Residents' Association, it was because I try to be present at as many meetings of residents' groups and community associations in Kemp Town constituency as possible.
I like to hear the views of local residents, their concerns and what they are thinking. This allows me to try to help where possible.
I have been campaigning, for example, to try to get Brighton and Hove Council to reinstate local bus services they have cut, including the 147 service between Saltdean and Brighton town centre.
I was able to talk to residents about this after the meeting. I want to listen to local residents, regardless of party allegiances.
