Logistics firms across the UK are seizing the opportunity to join a waste management and recycling network being launched in the UK by a German company.

CCR UK is looking for firms in Sussex to work with over new European environmental legislation by recycling their industrial and commercial waste.

The company, part of the Munich-based CCR Logistics Systems, has operated successfully in many European countries.

Its blue chip customers have included the likes of BMW, Esso and Toyota.

CCR is now bringing its expertise to the UK where recycling has become a major concern.

UK managing director Larry Boulton said he had been delighted with the reaction to the firm's arrival in the UK.

He said: "We are experiencing an overwhelming response to our campaign and have been inundated with calls from companies interested in joining us.

"However, there are still some opportunities for companies which are innovative, have the appropriate facilities and the energy to succeed.

"Once appointed, they will be provided with national customers and the necessary resources - marketing, IT, environmental consultancy training, legal advice and a list of CCR-approved recycling centres."

The German firm has a reputation for efficient waste management on the Continent and is a leader in recycling.

The UK operation plans to service a broad customer base, embracing all types of industrial and commercial concerns.
