Albion romped to a club record fifth League win in a row without conceding a goal.
Second half strikes by Matthew Wicks and skipper Paul Rogers stretched the soaring Seagulls' unbeaten run to eight matches.
Centre half Wicks volleyed in his third goal for the club from close range on 64 minutes.
Rogers made the points safe ten minutes later, firing his third goal in five games when Bobby Zamora chested back a Paul Watson cross.
It was a great way for Wicks to mark the last match of his month's loan from Peterborough and the perfect start for Micky Adams' new assistant Bob Booker.
Michel Kuipers, deputising in goal for the injured Mark Cartwright, had little difficulty in extending Albion's shut out sequence, which now spans an amazing seven hours and 46 minutes.
Albion were forced into a change for the first time in seven games.
Cartwright failed to recover from a groin problem, so Kuipers took his place in goal.
It was the former Dutch Marine's first appearance in the first team since he was substituted by Cartwright in the opening day defeat at Southend.
Hull were without the influential Theodore Whitmore and Ian Goodison, both on World Cup qualifying duty with Jamaica.
This meant an immediate recall for another Caribbean player, former Barnsley forward Marcelle from Trinidad and Tobago.
Swales also returned to the line-up for the first time since early September.
Both teams looked comfortable in possession in the early stages on a pristine playing surface.
Kuipers was called into action in the fifth minute, safely gathering a low 20- yarder by Swales.
Albion put together a neat three-man move two minutes later.
Watson's pass was flicked on by Rogers for Zamora through the inside right channel, but his shot lacked the power to worry Musselwhite.
Albion, knocking the ball around with plenty of confidence, threatened again when Jones put Zamora clean through.
A fine retrieving tackle by Whittle foiled the Seagulls' top scorer as Hull looked in vain for an offside flag.
Cullip back-headed Mayo's long throw straight to Musselwhite moments later as Albion continued to look slightly sharper than their hosts.
The match was being played at a decent pace.
Watson, on target against Hull at Withdean last season, tried to repeat the feat after Brown had been penalised for pushing him.
His ensuing free kick from 20 yards was curling towards the top corner when Musselwhite tipped it over.
Cullip and Wicks, making the last appearance of his month on loan from Peterborough, were looking secure once more at the heart of the defence.
Kuipers was being well protected, although he had to come out smartly to kick clear from Eyre when the former Scunthorpe striker exchanged passes with Marcelle.
Mayo collected the first caution of the contest on 37 minutes for interrupting Swales' progress down the right flank.
A minute later there was no offside flag again as Watson released Jones. He cut inside before scuffing his shot into the side netting.
Hull came close to ending the stalemate five minutes from the break.
Swales' cross was headed skywards by Cullip towards Eyre, in space beyond the far post.
His angled volley, struck as he was falling backwards, flashed just wide.
It was a rare scare for Albion in a first half in which they had generally had the edge.
Three minutes into the restart Zamora just managed to beat Greaves to Wicks' long clearance without being able to direct his effort on target.
Mayo blazed well over the bar from long range after Whittle misqueued Hart's centre.
Albion were still passing the ball well and looking more like the home team.
The fullbacks linked up in another thrust, Mayo flicking on Watson's corner at the near post.
It reached Hart at the far post but, with his back to goal, he hooked wide.
A superbly worked set piece put Albion ahead on 64 minutes.
Watson's free kick from the right flank found Cullip, escaping into space beyond the far post.
He headed back across the face of goal for defensive partner Wicks to volley in from point blank range.
The Seagulls were worth their lead on the balance of play, the goal coming at the end of a period of domination.
Albion doubled their advantage on 74 minutes with another cleverly crafted goal.
Watson's cross from the right flank was chested back by Zamora for ROGERS to find the roof of the net with a sweetly struck shot from just inside the area.
