A woman suffered burns to her elbow in a bedroom fire at her home.
Firefighters were called to the blazing flat in Egremont Road, Hastings, at about 9.40am on Saturday.
A mother and her daughter were in the house when the fire broke out. The daughter, in her forties, suffered burns and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The bedroom was damaged during the fire and a smoke alarm failed to operate.
Fire investigation officers were studying the home and the cause of the blaze is unknown. Police are investigating.
