As a lad of 17, sports-mad Neil Coppendale was privileged to watch the celebrated 1966 World Cup Final at Wembley in which England beat West Germany.
When he heard the famous twin towers were to be demolished, Neil made a sentimental return to Wembley to watch the last match ever played there.
The opponents were Germany. The stadium was much the same. Neil even sat in the same seat as 34 years ago.
What a pity the current England team couldn't cap a glorious day for Neil by ensuring an identical result.
