Albion manager Micky Adams is eager for the Scunthorpe clash to be given the green light.
Tomorrow's match is in doubt, because this week's downpours have saturated Withdean.
Large areas of the pitch were under water yesterday and referee Len Cable from Woking is expected to make an inspection today.
Adams said: "Momentum is everything. It's important for us that the game goes ahead.
"We don't want other teams playing while we're not, but I understand why the weather has been a problem this week.
"It has affected our training. The only day we had on grass was on Monday.
"We went to Hull on a tremendous pitch and showed the quality we have in the side.
"We don't want to play if it is going to be a lottery, but we will all be disappointed if the game is called off."
Third-placed Albion are currently six points behind leaders Chesterfield, their hosts a week tomorrow.
Tickets for the Chesterfield match are on general sale today.
