Thousands defied wet weather to take a spectacular step back in time and see history's most famous battle re-enacted.
Historic Battle Abbey provided the backdrop to the Battle of Hastings event.
More than 1,000 people dressed as Norman and Saxon warriors recreated the bloody fight between King Harold and William the Conqueror for Senlac Hill in 1066.
The event, watched by thousands, marked the 934th anniversary of the epic battle.
The Millennium flame, lit by the Queen on New Year's Eve, made an appearance at the event.
