Albion manager Micky Adams has refused to blame Scunthorpe's spoiling tactics for scuppering his side's winning streak.
Saturday's goalless stalemate at Withdean interrupted the Seagulls' sequence of five straight League victories.
Fans, angered by persistent time wasting, chanted "boring, boring Scunthorpe" in the second half.
Adams said: "It always takes two to tango. Unfortunately they weren't dancing, but I am not going to complain.
"Brian Laws set his team out not to be beaten and unfortunately we could not break them down."
Laws accused Albion supporters of sour grapes. "Boring, boring was pie in the sky," blasted the Scunthorpe boss.
"It was music to my ears, because it meant Brghton were not creating chances."
Adams had no complaints about the result, which stretched Albion's undefeated run to nine matches and means they have now gone a remarkable nine hours and 16 minutes without conceding a goal.
"It was a day of frustration, but it's another point gained, our unbeaten run is still going and we are third in the table. What is there to complain about?
"Defensively we were very sound, but if there is only one man up front I expect us to keep clean sheets."
Nathan Jones and Charlie Oatway went off late on with knocks ahead of Wednesday's visit by mid-table Hartlepool.
The promotion race is starting to hot up. Rochdale's 2-1 home win against Hartlepool on Saturday lifted them to second.
They entertain leaders Chesterfield in a top-of-the-table clash tomorrow night, then Albion go to Chesterfield on Saturday.
