Plans are afoot to unveil a statue of the creator of Sherlock Holmes in the town where he lived.
Crowborough councillors want to put up a bronze statue of the town's most famous former resident.
A special committee set up by the council is organising the scheme and the unveiling arrangements.
Early plans include a fanfare by buglers followed by a reception at a marquee in Goldsmith's recreation ground.
A time capsule is also being considered for burial next to the plinth at Cloke's Corner and local schools will be encouraged to contribute items.
Sir Arthur lived in Crowborough for 27 years and died in the town.
The council has commissioned local sculptor David Cornell to create the statue.
A fund-raising trust was set up three years ago to pay for the £46,000 tribute.
