Sammy Donnelly watched Worthing crash 4-0 to their jinx side Yeading in division one and insisted: "There are no excuses for that performance.

"We were out fought, out thought and out played and there will be changes made.

"I know we have got one or two players struggling with injuries but we were very poor all round."

Rebels had never won at the Warren and were on course for more misery when livewire strikers Leon Woodruffe and Trever Canoville sent them two down inside 14 minutes.

Lee Weston wasted a great chance to pull one back and team-mate Stuart Tuck saw his fierce drive well held before Matt Bartholomew headed the third on half-time.

Rebels improved in the second period but were hit by a superb Dwain Clarke breakaway goal midway through the half. Referee Russell took eight names, including five from Worthing.

Prepare Now Rebels prepare to host Hampton and Richmond in the league cup tomorrow night. Donnelly said: "We will pick ourselves up from this we have done it before."

Meanwhile, Bognor were praised by assistant manager Neil Hider after a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Ford in Essex Rocks were looking to push themselves away from the bottom.

Hider said: "The lads showed great spirit and determination to keep a clean sheet and come away with a point after the frustrations of the previous few games in which we have dominated but got nothing."

Bognor nearly got off to the worst possible start when an attempted back pass from Kevin Murphy fell short of Will Packham and, with the goalkeeper back-pedalling, Andy Aransibia shot wide.

Bognor settled and home goalkeeper Jimmy Chapman was kept busy.

He denied David Wright and Jamie Howell.

Glen Thomas had an effort blocked following a Michael Birmingham cross.
