A cyclist suffered head and facial injuries when he was thrown from his bike on to a parked car.
He was riding in Eaton Road, Hove, at 8.20pm on Friday when his cycle was in collision with a Vauxhall Senator travelling behind him.
Police said the car failed to stop but a driver was later breath-tested.
The cyclist was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
Witnesses should call PC Mick Kendall of Shoreham traffic police on 0845 6070999.
