Police have named an 83-year-old woman killed when a moving wheel fell off a moving lorry and hit her.
Hilda Weston was knocked over by the wheel from a Volvo tipper truck as she walked along the B2102 at Cross-in-Hand, near Heathfield, at 9.35am on Friday.
Ms Weston, of Fir Grove Road, Cross-in-Hand, died instantly.
Her 86-year-old brother was with her at the time and he was slightly injured.
He and the driver, who was severely shocked, were taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital.
Police closed the road for five hours while they investigated the accident.
They said the truck had lost another wheel a mile before it reached Cross-in-Hand.
